WORLD-RENOWNED percussionist Birger Sulsbrück takes to the stage at the first Jazz at the Players 2009 on Thursday, January 22.
Born in 1949 in Vester-Skerninge on the island of Funen, Denmark, Birger has worked as a professional drummer since 1971 playing jazz, rock, pop and Latin American music.
The talented musician has played and taught Latin American percussion since 1976 and now teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
He will play alongside six-piece unite Apitos Pequena, which specialises in styles of Latin jazz and salsa, at Davenham Players Theatre in Church Street, Davenham.
