POLISH rock bands and some home grown talent will be taking to the Banned stage in Winnington on Bank Holiday Monday.
Three-piece industrial rock metal band K2 and five-piece progressive rock band AUY, both from Krakow, will be playing at Winnington Rec, in Park Road, on August 25.
K2 were founded in 2000 and are known in Poland for for their multi-sense spectacular performances – one of their shows was named show of the year by the Polish edition of Metal Hammer Magazine.
The band’s first album Wrzazg was released in March 2004 by the New Energy label under Universal Music Poland Records and they went on to tour around Poland.
K2 are achieving more and more popularity, with their songs entering many radio charts in their native country.
AUY were formed in 2005 and recently won first place in a national battle of the bands in Poland.
Their influences are other progressive rock bands and their music is a mix of hard rock, metal and melodic rock with songs that are a mix of English and Polish.
The night will be opened by Northwich lads Skinless Finger who play a mixture of funk with extracts of the finest jazz and rock, and ignite it with the spirit of true hip hop.
Doors open at 7.30pm and entry is £5.
