A MUSICIAN admired around the world for his versatile style is heading to town next week with a whirlwind of a show.

Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel will be calling in at Parr Hall on Friday to whisk Warrington fans off on a musical round-the-world trip.

The two-time Grammy nominee is currently travelling the world with The Intimate Sound Tour, delighting fans across the UK, USA and Australia with an impressive programme of music.

Tommy is recognised right across the world for his unique ability to master a wide range of genres from pop, jazz and blues, to classical, flamenco and aboriginal styles.

A spokesman for the Parr Hall said: “Influenced by guitar greats Merle Travis and Chet Atkins, Tommy’s fingerpicking technique is second to none as he effortlessly manages to imitate the sound of an entire band – covering drums, bass, rhythm, lead guitar and vocal melody simultaneously, resulting in a remarkable effect.

“Tommy is set to welcome special guest Frank Vignola. Internationally renowned, the American jazz guitarist is recognised as being one of the industry’s most celebrated guitarists.”
