Quality of service excellent
Value for money good
The starters were cooked to perfection and came with a small side salad. The pakoras were like none I had eaten before, their fillings tasting delicious.

IF ever a restaurant name left you under no illusions as to what to expect then it has to be the The Indian.
Since the Indian opened a couple of months ago I had heard some really good reports and was keen not to miss out.
My companions and I visited on a Monday evening, probably not the best evening you may have thought to see how busy the restaurant would be, but we were pleasantly surprised to find quite a few diners.
We arrived unannounced and were immediately shown to our table and within minutes our drinks order along with poppadoms and selection of dips were placed onto our table by one of the friendly, polite waiters.
Our first impressions on the interior of the restaurant were very positive.
There is a small bar area with large leather comfy sofas for diners to relax whilst waiting for their table, the décor is chic and modern with clean looking tables that are beautifully presented.
We perused the menu, which contained an excellent choice of meals, especially for one of my companions who is a vegetarian.
We decided to begin our meal with a selection of starters consisting of chicken pakora and onion bhajis, which arrived at our table within 15 minutes of placing our orders.
The starters were cooked to perfection and came with a small side salad. The pakoras were like none I had eaten before, their fillings tasting delicious.
For mains we ordered chicken korma, chicken tikka massala a peshwar nan and mushroom balti.
When the meals arrived, again the presentation was excellent with the Balti arriving in a little copper bucket, and being girls this really appealed to us as we thought it was quite cute!
All the meals were very pleasing and came with pilau rice. The nan was sweet tasting, soft and fluffy, the korma and tikka massala contained very large chunks of chicken that were really tender and just melted in your mouth.
My companion commented that she could taste many ingredients in the Balti that combined to make the dish a cut above any other she had tried from other local restaurants. A complimentary Irish cream drink washed down our lovely meal.
I have to say that The Indian has to be one of the best indian restaurants I have ever eaten a meal at.
Not only was the food fantastic but the service was outstanding. I would certainly recommend a visit.
