Taylor Wimpey is pleased to have revealed its scheme to build 475 new homes at the Oakmere Road development in Winsford.

The house builder has purchased the first phase of the site from Hallam Land, making it the principal house builder for this large-scale development.

A planning application has now been submitted for the first phase of the development, which will provide 180 family homes, ranging from two to four bedrooms, including 54 affordable homes.

Ian Smith, managing director for Taylor Wimpey North West, explains: “We are delighted to have acquired this land and to have submitted our detailed planning application for this exciting new development in Cheshire, where an extensive collection of homes will soon be available.

”The development will be situated in attractive landscaped surroundings on the edge of Winsford, but within easy access to a range of shops, services and public transport facilities.

Access to the site will be taken from a new roundabout on to Oakmere Road, with a new footpath link created to Chester Road.

Ian added: “We are keen to support the local community as much as possible and expect that the new development will generate approximately 180 full time jobs over the construction period.”

Along with the new houses, Taylor Wimpey will also be providing public open space and a children’s play area for the whole community to enjoy, and improvements will be made to local roads and sports pitches.
