REGARDING article Battered for standing up to yobs', I have some thoughts about violent youths.
First of all make sure that the punishment fits the crime.
These yobs know that they will get away with it or receive a stupid sentence if they eventually end up in court.
They know their rights but what rights should these so-called scum enjoy when they inflict violence on other people.
They are bullies, would they behave the same if they weren't with their mates?
Should we blame the parents? Maybe because that's probably where it stemmed from as it would seem they don't care where their kids are or what they are doing, where they are out of sight they are out of mind.
Police, well that's a joke! More money for them, to be told you are sixth or seventh in line waiting on the phone or more likely they just won't do anything.
It is if society that is scared of these so-called people, as Julie said in the article, they should get a stiff sentence. Don't hold your breath even the courts say they're powerless to do anything.
If you're really asking for suggestions look to the break down of family life, respect and values. People are so fed up with this behaviour no one seems to know what to do for the best, least of all the police.
