Wharton Cons Open: This week's qualifiers

BLACKPOOL duo James Grimstone and Tommy King qualified for the third round last night, Sunday.

The pair were convincing winners throughout, seeig off Wirral's Mat Gilmore and Neil Hodgkinson (Stafford) respectively.

The following players are down to bowl this Sunday, May 18: Tony Chesters (Crewe); Ian Booth, Andy Moss (both Whitchurch); Sean Morrey, Craig Morrey (both Crewe); John Taylor (Warrington); Chris Jenkins, Nickey Tideswell (Stoke-on-Trent).

Quarter finals: Mat Gilmore (Wirral) 31 Dale Kenyon (Manchester) 10; James Grimstone (Blackpool) 31 Chris Ward (Stafford) 25; P Hignett 24 Neil Hodgkinson (Stafford) 31; Tommy King (Blackpool 31 Dean Sherwin (Derby) 20
Semi finals: Gilmore 19 Grimstone 31; Hodgkinson 20 King 31
