A MUM has presented trophies to the pre-school who go above and beyond to help her son every day.

Rachael King nominated Barnton Pre-school in the Epilepsy Action Edwards awards, which celebrates schools and nurseries that provide an excellent environment for children with epilepsy.

The nursery was highly commended for the work they do to support Rachael’s son Jenson.

Rachael, whose husband Ben and one-year-old son William also have epilepsy, said: “I am so proud of pre-school, all of the staff are incredible with him, in particular Cheryl Edwards, the pre-school manager, and Jenson’s on- to-one Jennie Berry who really is one in a million.”

“She has so much patience and time which she spends on Jenson, his absence seizures are dealt with so well on a daily basis and Jennie records them so accurately.

“Jenson really has benefited from going to pre-school but this would not have been possible without the outstanding work from the staff at Barnton Pre-school.

“Myself and Ben cant thank them enough and this award is well deserved.”

Since Jenson started at the pre-school all staff have also received specialist training from Jenson’s epilepsy nurse about how to administer his emergency rescue medication if needed and what to do when he has a seizure.

The pre-school have also put posters up about how to treat seizures.

Rachael and Jenson presented the pre-school and Jennie with glass trophies in recognition of their work.
